An Egyptian Queen is the Inspiration Behind This Designer's New Eye Makeup Collection
When it comes to iconic eyes Queen Nefertiti is the first person people think of, so it's no surprise that Christian Louboutin was inspired by the Egyptian Queen for its first venture into eye makeup. The brand, which is famous for its red soled shoes, has ventured out into lips and nails but its Les Yeux Noirs collection aims to give makeup fans amplified eyes.
Featuring a Brow Definer, Velvet Eye Definer Oeil Velours, Oeil Vinyle Luminous Ink Liner, and Lash Amplifying Lacquer mascara, anyone can get the same look as royals.
Queen Nefertiti's powerful spirit wasn't the only part of the country that gave Christian Louboutin ideas for the range – even the packaging is something that wouldn't look out of place on your jewelry shelf rather than in your bathroom cabinet.
It features Egyptian motifs of flower petals on the eye-catching cases. Christian also looked to Indian Kathakali dancers for his new creation, known for wearing elaborate eye makeup.
"You can see happiness, sadness, fear, fierceness…You definitely see everything through the eyes," Christian says.
And we couldn't agree more, so make sure your peepers pop!
