Tampon Nail Art

Prepare Yourself For (Extremely Realistic) Tampon Nail Art

We've seen people match their nails to their cats' or their favorite superheroes. So, naturally, it was just a matter of time for someone to match their nails to their vagina. Wait, what?

A Canadian nail artist named Annelies Hofmeyr has simultaneously made us scratch our heads and be totally dazzled by her incredibly realistic but weirdly beautiful tampon nail art. The design features eerily realistic "blood splatters" of crimson polish over a white base. And, yes, the nails come complete with strings. Points for accuracy.

While these nails are blunt and bizarre, remember that there's nothing "gross" about periods. Women menstruate every day, so why not put a whimsical spin on it? (Even though those fake applied strings would make it damn near impossible to do practically anything with your hands . . . like putting a tampon in. But no matter!)

Hofmeyr is crazy-talented, and, logistically speaking, this design is pretty much perfection. If you need any more proof that this woman is a genius, just take a look at the picture's comments. As one user summed it up, "They're f*cking glorious."

These nails are a work of art that belong in a museum . . . or at least a sex-ed class. With empowering beauty trends on the rise, what better way to rep your womanhood than with a period mani?
