Where to Get Filler as You Age

4 Unexpected Places Celebrities Are Getting Filler

When it comes to injecting things into your face, the topic is still a bit taboo. Unless you're as candid as Chrissy Teigen, many celebrities try to keep any nips they've had done under the radar.

We can't blame them, though. For most clients, natural work is key. If it's really good, nobody should think twice about it. While places like the forehead, cheeks, and lips get the spotlight when it comes to getting injected, there are several other places high-profile clients are getting work done. Nurse Jamie — whose clients include Shay Mitchell, Jessica Alba, and Lea Michele — shares a few unexpected areas celebrities are getting filled.

The Chin

"One of the first things people tend to get filled is their lips. A lot of times, the chin and jaw structure are the root cause of why a person is unhappy with their lips and facial symmetry," said Jamie. "I can inject filler in a concaved chin and the lips will almost immediately appear fuller and the face more symmetrical."

For patients who don't love their profile, perhaps because of their nose, Jamie suggests filling the chin to diminish the size of the nose and even out the profile. For patients who grind their teeth at night, which can wear away the gum tissue, it can cause the chin to "deflate." Filling this area can lift the side of the mouth and soften the face.

The Ears

The Liquid Ear Lift helps with sagging earlobes, caused by age and heavy earrings, by plumping them back to life. Jamie injects Volbella, a hyaluronic acid filler, into the ear. It lasts a year, and the only downtime needed is when waiting a few days before wearing heavy earrings. To help with lines and to build collagen in the ear, she usually administers a laser treatment following the injection.

The Neck

"The lack of oil glands on your neck can cause dryness, which may accelerate the aging process and make your neck appear more weathered," said Jamie. "Neck skin also has a tendency toward laxity. Plus, side sleeping can give you crepe-y neck or neck lines." According to Jamie, these fillers help women have stronger necklines, which makes them look younger and more radiant. The cost varies depending on the filler and who you see. Beauty Park, Jamie's medical spa, starts at $399 for a syringe of Volbella, which lasts up to 18 months.

The Hands

"You stop producing new collagen at 25. Everywhere! Not just your face," said Jamie. "You also tend to lose fat in places like your hands first, leaving a hollowed-out appearance that can be plumped with filler." Jamie uses Sculptra or Radiesse to firm and plump the hands, causing the veins to be less noticeable and helping to smooth out the skin.
