Fair Skin: Contour
For a fairer skin tone, use a medium-brown tone like MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork ($21) to chisel the face around the temples and cheekbones. To find the perfect contour shade, Bettelli looks at the natural shadow underneath the nose. This area tends to skew more taupe than orange — and Oompa Loompa is never a good thing.
To find the perfect placement of the cheek contour, use your makeup brush. Place the end of the tool behind your ear and follow the angle of the brush from the top of the lobe down onto the cheekbone. Your contour should go no lower than the nose and shouldn't reach in any further than the outer edge of the eye.
