Avicii, whose real name was Tim Bergling, has died. The 28-year-old Swedish DJ passed away on Friday afternoon in the Middle Eastern country of Oman, his rep announced in a statement to Variety. "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii," the statement reads. "He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given."

Avicii famously retired from live performing back in 2016 due to health reasons. In 2014, he canceled his Ultra Music Festival performance in Miami after suffering a blocked gall bladder and undergoing surgery. Our hearts go out to Avicii and his family.
