Thursday marked Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday, and to celebrate the big milestone, new family portraits have been released. Just a day before the special day, two photographs were revealed, showcasing the queen surrounded by her two youngest grandchildren, Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn, and her five great-grandchildren, Savannah, Isla, Mia Tindall, Princess Charlotte and Prince George. While this is the first time the world is seeing these photos, the adorable shots were actually taken on March 28 at Windsor Castle by photographer Annie Leibovitz.
It looks like the royal family is pulling out all the stops for the queen's birthday. In addition to the photographs, a special set of four stamps featuring the queen and her direct heirs has been issued and an in-depth documentary, Elizabeth at 90: A Family Tribute, about the queen's life has been made. Most recently, Kate Middleton and William got a head start on the celebrations, attending a bash in her honor during their tour of India. Keep reading to see the precious photos, and if you just can't get enough of the royals, check out Will and Kate's recent tour of India and Bhutan.
