How To Watch The 2016 Oscars in The Middle East

The 88th Academy Awards takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles this Sunday (that's Monday morning for the Middle East) and film fans will be crossing their fingers in hope Theeb's Jordanian filmmaker Naji Abu Nowar takes home the prize for Best Foreign Language Film.

The Middle East may be thousands of miles from Hollywood but make sure to get into the spirit of the biggest night on the showbiz calendar with our guide.

Watch it on TV

Calling all pay TV subscribers, the Oscars 2016 ceremony will be shown live and exclusively on OSN Movies Premiere HD and OSN Play. It's the only channel where you can watch it as it happens on February 29 at 4.30am (KSA time), and then it will be repeated at 8pm on the same day for those who haven't devoted an entire vacation day off to catching Chris Rock hosting the event live.

Really a night owl? Prior to the ceremony, there will be live red carpet action on E! with Giuliana Rancic.

In the lead-up to the bash all the previous award winners such as Birdman, The Theory of Everything, Interstellar and more, have been airing on the channel throughout the month.

Stream it online

For those who are able to access these sites from their original viewing countries, knock yourself out. The official Academy website will be playing the ceremony live as will ABCnews.com.

Major fans can even use these Oscars viewing party tips to host a shindig at home.
