Yesterday, beauty influencer Huda Kattan was scheduled to make an appearance at the Dubai Mall, where she was to host a meet-and-greet and even give out some freebies to her fans.
The event was supposed to be huge: Kattan's brand, HudaBeauty, was planning on giving away their entire range of products to the first 40 people in line at Sephora-- a gift that's worth over AED 6,500. Fans were allowed to start lining up at 5pm, and Huda was expected to arrive at 7. Unfortunately, at the last minute, the star was forced to cancel her event.
Sharing the disappointing news to her fans via Instastories, it was first announced that the event would be delayed until the mall could hire additional security. Soon after, Huda herself announced that because of security reasons, the entire even would be canceled.
Hi my loves, I'm very, very sad to announce that due to extremely high safety and security concerns we have been forced to cancel tonight's Meet & Greet. Dubai Mall is one of the most visited and safest places in the world, which is why crowd control was very important! There are way too many people waiting at Sephora and we are above capacity limits according to health and safety regulations😭😭😭 I have been counting down for this event for over a month and I've really been looking forward to meeting you all! Words can't describe how sad I am 😭 I'm really sorry to everyone who planned on coming out tonight but this is beyond our control. Your safety is our main priority and we can't compromise it under any circumstances! ♥️ You have no idea how sad I am about this, but again - I want you all to be safe! Thank you so much for all your love and support, ILYSM ♥️
The Dubai Mall also followed up with their own announcement and apology, and we're hoping that security will soon be strong enough to handle all of Huda's adoring fans.
