If you missed her big Abu Dhabi gig then you missed an awesome way to see in 2018 but Katy Perry made sure she had her own special way of celebrating the new year before her concert.
The 33-year-old singer and her touring crew took a trip to the United Arab Emirates desert during some time off between shows and it looks like she had a blast getting to grips with the Emirati culture.
In clips posted on her Instagram Stories, the blonde could be seen riding around on a desert safari, prancing around with a belly dancer who seemingly asked for a volunteer and soaking up a traditional dance performed by men from the UAE too.
It came just days before she celebrated the new year with a packed crowd at the du Arena, belting out tracks such as "Swish Swish," "Hot n' Cold," and "Dark Horse."
"I'm so happy to see you again, and to play Abu Dhabi for the first time! It's going to be a wonderful way to ring in the New Year!" She said to fans at her live-action video wall and laser-embellished gig.
With tens of thousands in attendance, she led the crowd into 2018 with her very apt track "Firework" and bright display to go alongside it.
