Katy Perry hit the red carpet at the Grammys in LA on Sunday, and during her interview with Ryan Seacrest, the singer touched on her recent return to the spotlight after taking some time away from music. "It's called taking care of your mental health," the "Chained to the Rhythm" singer said, adding, "I haven't shaved my head yet." The comment seemed like a pretty obvious reference to Britney Spears's infamous troubles in 2007, during which she shaved her head at an LA salon. It didn't take long for social media users to rail against Katy "mocking mental illness."
Katy Perry mocking Britney on the red carpet. Not cute! Good luck with that new single, sis!— T. Kyle (@tkylemac) February 13, 2017
Your "woke" queen, Katy Perry the Platypus, thinks mocking someone else's mental illness is funny. pic.twitter.com/j6zI0sajWJ— 💜💕💜💕💜💕💜💕💜💕💜💕💜 (@Lovermour) February 13, 2017
It's funny that Katy talks about mental stability like she's not a 32 year old woman doing candy land themed music videos. Weird ass bitch.— cody (@codyspearz) February 13, 2017
