Will Smith Met Saudi's Sophia the Robot and Things Got a Little Awkward
She got her wish to hang out with Chrissy Teigen, and rubbed shoulders with Cristiano Ronaldo recently, and now Sophia the Robot has been on a date with Will Smith. Well, kind of…
The Saudi passport-holder enjoyed a romantic drink in the Cayman Islands with the Fresh Prince of Bel Air star but given his past role in iRobot, the pair didn't get too friendly.
"I just met Sophia the Robot. She wasn't feelin' me... I guess based on my History with Robots," he captioned the image of himself pursing his lips in her direction.
Sharing a clip of their meeting on Instagram and also the full video on YouTube, he worked with Hanson Robots to make the funny video happen.
Using state of the art Artificial Intelligence, she's described as "a super advanced humanoid robot capable of showing over 60 different human expressions - interpreting human language and human emotion."
She put it to the in the video below and combined with Will's humor, the results are pretty hilarious. "He really didn't learn form iRobot," Instagram follower, @aleesoon, commented.
