Vogue Arabia and the Dubai Design & Fashion council announced today that the DDFC/Vogue Fashion Prize is back for 2017, and it looks like it's going to be better than ever!
The annual endowment for the Arab World's most promising fashion talents is expanding for its 2017 program, and in addition to accepting applicants in the categories of ready-to-wear and accessories, fine jewelry designers will also be eligible. One winner in each category will be announced at a gala event in November.
Manuel Arnaut, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Arabia, commented: "The Fashion Prize aligns with Vogue Arabia's vision to invest in ecosystem development and elevate the Middle Eastern fashion scene. Building on the success of last year's program, we will be introducing an official category for fine jewelry this year. We're now in a position to further support our home-grown talents across a platform that better encapsulates the Arab world's potential on a global stage."
Jazia Aldanhani, CEO of the Dubai Design & Fashion Council, added: "Celebrating and promoting regional talent is a fundamental aspect to the DDFC's mandate, and we are privileged for being able to work with Vogue Arabia in this initiative. The success of the Fashion Prize is testimony to the incredible talent of our community, and an important element in the effort to elevate Dubai's positioning as a destination for design."
