There was a whole lot of love in the air this Valentine's Day, especially for these ladies who hit the New York Fashion Week runway donning hijabs. Muslim designer Anniesa Hasibuan, who hails from Indonesia, returned for her second season in the city and certainly made a statement with her take on how the cultural headgear can be styled.
The designer selected pearls, satin pants, feathered skirts, velvet blouses and intricate jackets (some emblazoned with the initial of her first name) to express how multidimensional you can be when dressing with a hijab.
Some of the people on the runway were immigrants, green card holders, and 1st/2nd generation Americans, wearing makeup from their Halal-friendly beauty sponsor, Wardah.
