The Red Dancing Lady Emoji Came to Life in Cannes – Courtesy of This Arab Designer
With abundance of beauty, glitz and glamor, it's easier to forget that Cannes is actually a platform dedicated to films. Now in its 70th year, the festival, just like wine, is only improving with age. The films shown are getting original at best, the fashion is the dreamiest and the looks—the kitschiest!
However, the best look (or should we say looks) of the opening were from designers with Middle Eastern roots. Victoria's Secret model Sara Sampio was a vision in this billowy, scarlet number by Lebanese designer, Zuhair Murad, that made her look just like the red dancing lady emoji.
The other top look was actually from a Cannes 2017 Jury member – Chinese actress, Fan Bingbing, who looked fierce yet resplendent in a caped gown by Lebanese designer, Elie Saab.
Based on the opening night, it's safe to say that the next 10 days is going to be quite fascinating for the red carpet.
