Sonam Kapoor Brought a Piece of Middle East to the Cannes Red Carpet and We’re Smitten
On Sunday, we got to see Aishwarya Rai looking devastatingly gorgeous in a Cinderella-esque Michael Cinco gown, and we said no one could one-up this look. Boy, were we wrong! In walked Sonam Kapoor on Day 5 of Cannes Film festival in a romantic blush-pink couture gown and lit up the little resort town of France like thousand stars on a moonless night.
The form fitting number, with beautiful long sleeves and an equally long train, plus ornate embroidery was a custom-made creation by one of the best... Sonam's favorite Arab designer — Elie Saab.
This shimmery, fish cut ensemble was so understated yet exotic in the same breath, even Sonam couldn't get over it as she 'grammed, "What amazing details! Thanks so much Mr. Saab for making me this stunning creation!"
For her second outing, Sonam decided go with the same designer, all over again! The actress was seen in a brocade body-fitting Elie Saab number with a plunging neckline that was cinched at the waist with a sleek gold belt. The texture of the gown with its sheer elements at play made her look like the goddess that she is!
We also loved the way she styled it with sleek, center-parted hair, shimmery gold-smokey eyes and nude lips. She kept her accessories to a minimum with just a statement ring from Chopard. Guess all that glitters is definitely Sonam Kapoor... on the Cannes red carpet at least!
