Floyd Mayweather's New Fashion Collection Proves He Knew He'd Win That Record-Breaking Fight
On Saturday night, the world watched as Floyd "Money" Mayweather won his 50th fight and retired undefeated after a boxing match with MMA champion Conor McGregor. While many were rooting for his Irish opponent to come through and break his winning streak, it seems Mayweather had no doubts he'd smash records that put him up there with legend Rocky Marciano (who retired at 49-0).
Before his event at the T-Mobile Theater in Las Vegas, the star launched a fashion collection with designer Philipp Plein as part of a two-year deal. His first items are T-shirt which have him down as #Undefeated for the 50th time.
With the T-shirts, which come in gold and silver, being sold at AED3,500 a pop on Plein.com, the 40-year-old must have been dead certain of his win before sending them off to be made.
"I am happy to collaborate with Philipp Plein, he is unique in the fashion world. Like me he works and plays hard, lives the dream, and demands the best," Mayweather says, with the designer, who supplied him with a special Philipp Plein robe to wear to the ring, added: "I applaud Floyd's winning spirit and have been intrigued by the idea of collaborating together since he joined me on the runway to present my spring/summer 2018 resort fashion show last May. His fashion sense and fearless attitude perfectly match the Philipp Plein mood and lifestyle. I am excited to see what we will come up with together."
