This season Fashion Week hasn't been short of statements, with the New York edition sending immigrant models in hijabs down the runway last week. But that wasn't the only moment that made the FROW's jaws collectively drop - Turkish designer, Hakan Akkaya's show saw a man strut his stuff dressed in a burka.
The Freedom collection looks at social issues and celebrates sexual, racial and gender equality. As part of the event, a male and female model sauntered down the catwalk, in pieces that resembled the religious-wear, to support the statement of freedom and gender equality. Taking place on the second day of New York Fashion Week, it was Hakan's bold debut.
