Saoirse Ronan Wore Your Mom's Favorite '90s Shoe to the BAFTAs After Party
When Saoirse Ronan hit the red carpet at the BAFTA awards, she wowed in a textured, feathery Chanel gown with a high neck and sheer skirt. With so much going on up top, it would be easy to miss her shoes completely, and perhaps that's what she was hoping. . . at least as the night went on. Because while Saoirse made her initial appearance in a pair of black ankle-strap sandals with a high heel that perfectly set off the stunning gown, by the time she hit the afterparty, she'd swapped her designer heels for something a little more comfortable . . . and very retro!
Saoirse's big switch involved a pair of Rocket Dog "Boom" sandals, which retail for £33 (about $46). The velvet slides feature a huge foam platform, which allowed Saoirse to keep the height she needed to stop tripping over her skirt, but with a little more comfort and lightness. We can't help getting flashbacks to the late '90s when we see these shoes, but we've got to say, they do look comfy! If they're good enough for an Oscar nominee, they're good enough for us, so get a closer look at her shoe change, then shop some similar options for yourself.
