Baghdad-born architect Zaha Hadid unexpectedly passed away in March, leaving behind a legacy that included the Heydar Aliyev Center in Azerbaijan and Sheikh Zayed Road Bridge in Abu Dhabi. But her final project took her stunning architectural work into the work of jewelry design.
The Iraqi talent teamed up with Georg Jensen for The Lamellae Collection - eight pieces crafted in sterling silver and black rhodium. The five rings and three arm cuffs are described as "smooth flowing ribbon-like shapes" that are set with black diamonds, and the items are inspired by her Wangjing Soho building near Beijing, China.
It's available for pre-order until August 3 but they don't come cheap; the four Gold pieces range between $22,000 and $25,000, 10 Silver pieces are $650 to $3000, and 10 Black Diamond pieces range between $5,000 and $30,000.
