The Red Carpet! The Runway! Tom Ford's Fashion Show Was an Ode to Hollywood Glamour
New York Fashion Week might be holding down the fort on the East Coast, but Tom Ford just pulled his weight over in Los Angeles, where he invited Hollywood's elite to come celebrate his own Fall 2020 collection, which was, as always, very much rooted in '70s glamour.
"The moment when one first sees a man or woman that takes one's breath away, or is stunned by a beautiful car or a spectacular room, forms the basis of our tastes and stays with us forever. For me these moments happened in the 1970's," Tom Ford stated in a press release.
You'll see Bella Hadid in a dangerous, NSFW chainmail gown held together by two loosely tied velvet bows and her sister Gigi channel more of a daytime mood in the extravagant feathered earrings Mr. Ford sent down the runway, coming in a wide array of colors and finishes. But whether it was something black tie or a look with a touch more casualness, this collection has the label's inimitable attitude.
Meanwhile, celebrities like Kate Hudson (in a neon green bralette) and Kylie Jenner stood by, watching the fashion show after taking photos at the step and repeat. One could argue the night was as big as an award show, but it definitely maintained the mystique Tom Ford is known for.
