Halima Aden to Star in Carine Roitfeld's CR Runway Show

Halima Aden Will Star in amfAR and Carine Roitfeld's Virtual CR Runway Show

From covers to runways, Halima Aden has long been a fashion force to be reckoned with. And, her latest stint, staring in Carine Roitfeld's CR Runway show, is further proof of that.

On May 1, 2020, the 22-year-old hijabi model will join Kim Kardashian West, Hailey Bieber, Halima Aden, Winnie Harlow, and more, for a first-of-its-kind virtual fashion show, created in support of amfAR Against COVID-19: Fashion Unites, a global event to support the amfAR fund against COVID-19.

The second annual CR Runway will be hosted by Derek Blasberg, YouTube's head of fashion and beauty and will consist of a 30-minute, self-filmed fashion show that will see some of the biggest names in fashion, wear creations from their personal wardrobe.

The celebrity-filled fashion show will also feature messages of gratitude from designers and contributors to the many frontline workers who have risked their lives fighting COVID-19.

"As we face times of great uncertainty, our support for one another is more important than ever," Carine Roitfeld explains. Adding: "Embracing fashion as the creative expression through which to support the health and safety of our global communities, we hope this show can offer a small moment of hope, inspiration, and uplifting connection. A modest contribution as our world unites to collectively weather the storm of this pandemic together."

CR Runway with amfAR Against COVID-19 Fashion Unites will be available to stream on YouTube at 12 AM (GST) on May 1.
