There seem to be a million different lower-body exercises to do if you're seeking booty gains, but Corey Calliet, a Revenge Body trainer who works regularly with Michael B. Jordan of Black Panther, likes to keep it simple with his clients.
We asked him what his favorite exercises are for women who want to build and strengthen their glutes. "Old-fashioned lunges and squats," he told POPSUGAR. "I promise it works." He admits that lunges and squats "hurt like hell," but they're extremely effective, so you'd be a fool not to incorporate them more regularly into your routine.
Although it might be tempting to only do these exercises with your bodyweight, you have to add some extra weight to get the full benefits. You can use dumbbells, kettlebells, or even a barbell. Any kind of resistance you can add to the body will only get you closer to seeing a positive change in your physique.
"You want to go with a weight that's going to make you work, and if you can go with a weight that makes you work and work past that, I suggest you do that," Corey said. "Don't look for comfort when you're doing your workouts. Being comfortable won't change your body."
