Last March we told you about Jordan's first female self-defense academy, run by Lina Khalifeh, who former US President Barak Obama has personally praised. And now fitness fans in the United Arab Emirates can get a taster of her SheFighter session as the brand is hosting a pop-up event in Abu Dhabi.
Taking place in Al Seef Mall on Sunday, October 22, Guavapass members can get in free if they book through the website and non-members only have to pay AED25. Doors open 6.15 p.m. and the SheFighter class takes place 6.30 p.m.-7.30p.m. while guests can enjoy goodies from Green Central after the session until 8.15 p.m.
SheFighter uses special techniques in an effort to build up self-esteem and addresses violence against women from a psychological and social approach not just physically.
Offering taekwondo, kickboxing, and bootcamp-style classes to girls from a young age, the lessons range in styles with SheFit, SheCore and even SheYoga.
"Since joining SheFighter nearly 2 years ago, my self-confidence has grown by leaps and bounds. I no longer feel helpless or panicky in tough situations; I'm much more aware of how to defend myself and those around me," Sarah Barakeh previously said. "Whether or not you've been exposed to violence and abuse, SheFighter is an awesome place to grow stronger, healthier, and happier."
If you want a piece of the action, you know what to do!
