We've seen the Desert Warrior Challenge and the Spartan Race amongst others grace the region - and now "probably the toughest event on the planet" is coming to the Middle East. Tough Mudder will make its debut on December 9 and 10 with early bird registration for du customers opening today at www.toughmudder.ae and general bookings on July 20.
The obstacle course at Dubai's Hamdan Sports Complex will test the stamina and strength of participants in the 8km and 16km races by IMG and in partnership with du and the Dubai Sports Council.
From the sounds of it the obstacles will be like nothing the region has seen before; Arctic Enema 2.0 is an icy water plunge sure to be worse than brain freeze and Electroshock Therapy is a muddy sprint through dangling electric wires. While Tough Mudders in other parts of the world have experienced these challenges before, 2016 brings the new Block-Ness Monster where "Mudders will have to push, pull and roll their way through 60 feet of slick, rotating barriers."
The great team-building course, which is untimed, also has an option for youngsters who think they are tough enough; kids aged 7-13 can do the du Mini Mudder 1.5km obstacle course.
"We're thrilled to bring the Tough Mudder experience to the Middle East with our debut event in Dubai," said Will Dean, CEO & Founder, Tough Mudder. "We are taking the best of Tough Mudder's team-driven obstacles in combination with the incredible backdrop of Dubai to create a challenge like no other."
