What's Your Dosha? Can Ayurveda Really Improve Your Health?
The Indian wisdom of Ayurveda believes that each individual falls under one of the three doshas, or mind-body constitutions, namely: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Your mental state, eating pattern and how you move through life, all have direct impact on these energies, according to the tradition which has roots in Hindu culture, causing them to fluctuate and sometimes become out of balance.
They say don't fight fire with fire, and that certainly proves true in Ayurveda which teaches that you need balance. So fiery personalities so avoid hot food … get it?
Rituals has come up with three 100 percent natural dry massage oils to help maintain a balance between doshas for a healthy life.
The Vata dry oil gives a silky soft sensation to the skin, enriched with sweet almond oil and basil. It makes sense seeing as Vatas are the life of the party, light-hearted, creative and lively, however, when imbalanced, experiences fear and anxiety. They represent space and air and to stay happy and healthy, Ayurveda suggests that Vatas stick to low-impact exercises such as yoga, tai chi or swimming.
The Pitta oil contains a unique formula with soothing lavender and ylang ylang. It's perfect for people are intellectual, reliable and good leaders. Representing fire and air, an imbalanced Pitta can result in aggressive, controlling and demanding behavior. To maintain a balance, Ayurveda suggests engaging in recreational exercises like kayaking and surfing.
Finally, the Kapha dry oil is enriched with invigorating ginger and cinnamon essences. Ideal for spicing up laid-back and loving types. The Kapha represents water and earth, is loyal and known for their relaxed attitude. But when imbalanced, these traits turn into insecurity, envy and stubbornness.
