Carving out time for yourself to engage in self-care every single day isn't exactly easy. I've always loved to meditate, but I somehow always come up with various excuses to not do it on the regular. That is, until I got myself a proper meditation cushion.
For some reason, having a real meditation cushion sitting underneath my desk at work gives me the daily motivation to do a five-minute meditation every day. I either do it as soon as I get into the office (I'm usually here early, so there aren't many people here) or I steal away for a few minutes in the afternoon. Luckily, my office has a little library off to the side that's quiet and dimly lit. It's the perfect place for me to close my eyes and just relax for a few minutes.

The cushion gives me lots of support, and it also elevates my hips above my knees, so I can sit with my legs crossed for a while without feeling any pain in my lower back.
Having this meditation cushion under my desk is kind of like investing in a solid pair of running shoes. When you have good fitness gear, you're more likely to get to the gym and actually use it. The same goes for self-care. Having proper self-care tools only encourages you to engage in self-care more often. If you're trying to meditate more often — or at the very least step away from the madness and just relax — consider buying yourself a meditation cushion that you can use on a daily basis, whether it's at home or at the office.
