Kelly weighed 173 pounds when she first started the Renaissance Periodization (RP) journey. "On the scale, I lost between 16-18 pounds during a 12-week period from January to April 2018," she said. "During that time, I was also able to put on some lean muscle mass while I was losing weight, which is not always the case when you are in a caloric deficit."
When people ask her how she lost her weight, she says that 80 percent of the equation is "diet alone." Her training didn't really change when she started RP.
"I just started eating properly and consistently," she said. "I had previously purchased diet templates from Renaissance Periodization (RP), but I never fully committed to the process. Each time I would start, stay on track a few weeks, then fall off again. Not this time."
Consistency was key. She stuck with the whole 12-week period.
