Be it cooking for yourself, your family, or meal prepping, we've shortlisted a list of cooking apps, which not only feature recipes but, also cater to your every dessert, snack, and juice needs.
Kitchen Stories

When it comes to recipe apps, Kitchen Stories is more or less the crème de la crème. It offers video tutorials, meal of the day suggestions, recipes ranging from pasta and Asian to vegetarian and, our personal favorite "quick". We're also massive fans of the "How-To" section as it includes a "Homemade" feature, which shows you how to make the likes of almond butter, dairy-free yogurt, cauliflower rice, and more. The app also features a "Shopping List", which stores the ingredients needed to cook your desired meals – to do this, all you need to do is click on the "Add to Shopping List" option.
Pros:
Tons of healthy dishes
HD videos
Ad free
Interface is user friendly
Features a cooking community
Cons:
Limited range of world cuisines
Price: Free to download on all iOS and Android devices.

For a subscription fee of AED7.29, you get access to some (a lot) of the best dishes that Lebanon has to offer. While the apps layout may not be the easiest to use, it does feature videos, recipes, and a glossary to help with dish and, occasionally, ingredient translation.
Pros:
Mix of both modern and traditional dishes
Great variety of desserts, juices, and snacks
Cons:
Layout is a bit outdated, making it a bit hard to navigate
Price: AED7.29 on iOS devices.

Tasty
Image Source: Apple App Store/ Tasty
When an app has been created by Buzzfeed, you know that it's going to be a combination of informative, entertaining, and creative – and, that's exactly what Tasty is. The app features a number of eye-catchy dishes, that are… just as tasty as they look. And, to make cooking them easier, the app features automatic, pop-up videos as well as the ability to enlarge your text.
Pros:
It's free of ads
The interface is friendly and interactive
It's home to guides and an international cooking community
It's rather thoughtful – upon signing up, you are asked if you're vegetarian, if you are – if asks you if you want to hide all of the meat dishes.
Cons:
A few of the dishes are a bit too indulgent on the sugar and butter
Price: Free to download on all iOS and Android devices.

Green Plate

Home to a number of meat-free, gluten-free, and animal product-free dishes, Green Plate is one app that should be on every vegetarian and vegan's phones. Our main issue with it? You have to pay to unlock a few recipes and the pop-ups can be annoying.
Pros:
The dishes are incredibly healthy
The interface is easy to use
The dessert section features some of our favorites such as the lemon bars, coconut blueberry bars, and the sizzled honey bananas.
Cons:
Its pop-ups ads can be quite annoying
Some recipes require payment
Price: Free to download on all iOS and Android devices.

Hebbars Kitchen
Image Source: Apple App Store/ Hebbars Kitchen
Solely dedicated to Indian dishes, this app will have you serving up restaurant quality curries, paneers, traditional desserts such as moong dal, balushahi, and more. While the categories, which range from sandwiches and dal-based dishes to rice and sweets are great, the overall layout of the app, however, makes it hard to use. For example, each recipe features an in-depth introduction, in which Hebbar gives you first-hand insight into how he makes it (similar to a cooking show), video, and only after scrolling past them both, do you find the recipe sitting nicely at the bottom of your screen.
Pros:
It features an extensive list of classic and modern dishes, snacks, and juices
Cons:
It's text heavy
The interface is outdated, making it hard to use
Price: Free to download on all iOS and Android devices.
