Ree Drummond's Dog Charlie Has Died
Dog Owners Everywhere Could Relate to the Pioneer Woman's Emotional News
Ree Drummond shared the heartbreaking news that her dog Charlie has passed away after a battle with lymphoma. The Pioneer Woman fans will remember Charlie as the adorable basset hound who was another family member on the ranch along with Ree Drummond's four children. Ree wrote a blog post entitled "A Sad Goodbye," in which she described Charlie's struggle with lymphoma since his diagnosis over a year ago.
"I feel a little funny writing much about this, because Charlie was a dog — and because there is so much human tragedy and sadness all around that this can't even begin to compare to. But anyone who's ever loved a dog understands that it's a special kind of loss — one that all dog families have to go through since dogs generally don't outlive us," she wrote. Charlie was so beloved by the Pioneer Woman's fans that she even included a note to parents about what to tell their children if they ask about the pup. "Parents, I'll let you decide what (and whether) to tell your kids about Charlie the Ranch Dog," she wrote.
Dedicated viewers will certainly miss having Charlie's presence on the show. Head to Ree Drummond's blog to read the full post — which includes heartwarming stories — and to see more sweet photos of Charlie.
