Ever since my trip to London, I've been a wee bit infatuated with must-have British brand Mulberry. Now the label is feeding my décor desires, as well my sartorial cravings. With a backdrop of lush red roses and artful hand-drawn black and white brick, and a runway of rich wooden floors, the Mulberry Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week show was a design dream. Strutting down the catwalk were models with rouge locks à la Florence Welch in sweet shades of purple, apricot, and blue. My favorite look was this sapphire watercolor-esque party dress and cropped jacket; against the floral backdrop, it was a wonderfully feminine interpretation of the Union Jack flag — a nod to the UK-based label's heritage.
Feeling inspired, I reinterpreted this sensational sapphire and rouge look into a beautiful bedroom. The Marimekko Sarni Bed Linens ($40-$140) lend the blue a modern edge like those bold booties; the Restoration Hardware Isabel Mirror ($170) brings on the bows; and the Room & Board Sandberg Chair ($600) offers clean lines and a natural element.
