Arab Hope Makers 2018

Sheikh Mo Is Honoring Arab Hope Makers Once Again

The Arab Hope Makers initative, which is part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Initiatves, was launched in February of last year, aiming to honor and spotlight people in the Arab world who are working for their communities.

According to Gulf News, "the Arab Hope Makers initiative aims to spread message of hope across the region in order to reignite optimism and confidence within the Arab World. It targeted young citizens specifically, aiming to inspire youth to embrace humanitarianism and dedicate their time to serving others, and to spreading hope."

The program was such a success that Etihad even created an Arab Hope Makers channel on the airline, sharing the stories of the competition's five winners.

Now, Sheikh Mo has announced that the initiative is back for a second year, and once again will honor and promote people in the Arab world who are spreading hope, and who display the values of giving, positivity, and optimism.

"There are thousands of people who work silently and tirelessly to help others – these are the true heroes who deserve to be honored," said Sheikh Mohammed.

"We will take these people's extraordinary stories, and continue to fight despair and pessimism with their spirit of positive change," he continued. "In the face of frustration, future generations need to hear their inspiring experiences. I invite everyone in the Arab world to join us on our journey of spreading hope – everyone has something to contribute."

"We will work with the Hope Makers, support their humanitarian efforts, help them in their missions, and share their stories proudly as achievements for our Arab society.

"This initiative is like a school that annually graduates thousands of positive change makers in our communities."

Last year, the program saw over 65,000 submissions, so this year is on track to be better than ever.
