If you're like most people, the only reason why you pull out your brown bottle of three-percent hydrogen peroxide is to clean a cut. It is a much less painful way to sanitize your wound than, let's say, alcohol (OUCH!). But did you know that hydrogen peroxide has a lot of other everyday uses as well? Click along to find out how to clean your kitchen, yourtoothbrushes, and even your feet.

Sure, you need to switch out your toothbrush every three months, but you also need to sterilize it at least once a week as well. Fill a container with hydrogen peroxide. You want the peroxide high enough to cover the head of the brush. Then soak the toothbrush for three minutes. Rinse with water, shake dry to get the excess water off, then let it air dry.

2Disinfect Your Cutting Boards and Kitchen Counters

Keep your wooden cutting boards spick-and-span with these easy tips. After using your cutting board, wipe it down with soap and water. Then rinse immediately. Don't dunk the wooden cutting board in a sink full of soapy water or in the dishwasher. It will warp and crack. The next step is to pour the hydrogen peroxide over the wood and spread it with a clean sponge. Let it sit for five minutes while it fizzes and kills all the germs and bacteria. Then wipe it with the clean sponge.
You can also clean your kitchen counters by wiping hydrogen peroxide all over with a paper towel or clean rag. Your counters will be sparkling within minutes.

It's a good idea to cleanse your kitchen sponge on a regular basis. We suggest disinfecting your sponge by soaking it in an equal-parts mixture of hydrogen peroxide and warm water. Let it soak for 10 minutes, squeeze out all of the water, and let it air dry.
