With temperatures soaring in the UAE, many of us have our AC units on full-blast, and will leave them that way for the next few months. While it's hard to fathom lowering the temperature of your apartment, DEWA is urging residents to think twice about their energy and water consumption during the warmest season.
The campaign, titled 'Let's Keep Summer Green,' focuses on getting DEWA customers to try to reduce their power consumption between 12pm and 6pm, which are the peak hours in the UAE.
With recommendations like lowering your air conditioning to 24C, installing drip-irrigation systems, and offering tips on how to manage your home appliances when you leave for summer holidays.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and chief executive of DEWA, said: "The campaign is part of our ongoing efforts to establish the foundations of environmental sustainability and support the sustainable development of Dubai by using electricity, water and natural resources sensibly, to ensure their sustainability for generations to come.
"We urge everyone to adopt a conscious and responsible lifestyle, especially during summer time."
