The Dubai Super sale, one of the two in the entire year, started with quite a bang this weekend. Thousands of people thronged to malls across the city — all in a bid to nab the discounts of up to 90 percent.
However, the sale came with its fair share of problems. The parking lots of three of the most popular malls in Emirate — The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and City Centre Mirdiff were completely full, traffic started spilling onto adjoining roads, causing major blocks around the city.
In fact, people were stuck in the parking lots of these malls for more than one hour, so much so that the Dubai Police had to get involved. They started diverting traffic on the roads thereby shutting down entrances to these three malls.

Even Mall of the Emirates took to Twitter to caution residents about the Super Sale rush and the road blocks.
Hello @dneeds apologies for the inconvenience. We had many Super Sale visitors which affected the traffic flow. Hope you enjoyed your visit.

We guess it's safe to say that people did make the most out of the sales, no?
