UAE's First Glow-in-the-Dark Exhibition

This Abu Dhabi Exhibit Amazes When The Lights Are Out

The American artist Tommyboy's work will go on display tonight at Le Vault, a bouqitue in Abu Dhabi, but the show is far from typical.

Instead of a traditional art exhibition, Tommyboy's work will be glow-in-the-dark, making it the first exhibit of its kind in the UAE.

Tommyboy, who also goes by the name Rocketbyz, creates portraits of celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, and Marilyn Monroe, which, among other works, will be on display beginning tonight. Samer Mashal, the managing director of Le Vault, spoke to The National about the project. "I was truly amazed when I first came across Tomyboy's work in the USA. On meeting him, I had no doubt in my mind that I had to bring him, and his exemplary ideas and concepts to the UAE. Knowing that nothing of this nature had ever been hosted in the Middle East, it was a privilege to be the first. I am excited to witness people's response to his work and hope that guests will see be as entranced by his pieces as I was."

The exhibit begins tonight (April 13) at 7pm at Le Vault in Abu Dhabi's Nation Towers.
