Oman

The cheapest and most welcoming holiday destination is right in our backyard. If it's good enough for newlyweds Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's honeymoon, it's more than good enough for us. Flights from Dubai to Oman take over an hour but, you can also make a road trip out of it with views of the desert, mountains, oasis, and the Persian Gulf keeping you company along the way.

Egypt

The land of the Pharaohs beckons you to its spine-tingling locations that make for the most memorable experiences. Pay a visit to Tutankhamun's tomb, cruise down the Nile or, go up the Cairo Tower for panoramic views of the city.

Traveler's tip: The amount of art galleries and concert venues in Cairo alone are bound to make art aficionados feel spoiled for choice, but a visit to the Cairo Opera House and the Museum of Islamic Arts is a must.
