You'll Want to Plaster This Woman's Satirical UAE Art All Over Your Walls
Anyone that's been to the UAE know will know that it's unlike any other place in the world - in the most fantastic way, of course. And that's exactly what illustrator Clare Napper wants to get across in her tongue-in-cheek artwork.
The talented artist began her Highlife Dubai collection depicting just how surreal life in the Emirate can feel as an expat; whether it's ordering a candy bar to your doorstep, having five people work on one person in the nail salon or the nanny culture we see all around. While the hype around her 1920s-1940s-inspired posters kicked off in 2015, Clare introduced an Abu Dhabi series in 2016.
Check it out to see her take on beach club culture and the more historical side of the country's capital. Preview her first and second collection in our gallery.
