Dubai's Al Sufouh Renamed King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud
Saudi Arabia Got a Pretty Cool National Day Gift From the UAE
Ask anyone and they'll tell you the roads in Dubai are always changing. But this major street got a rather dramatic name change this morning. Anyone traveling through the Marina, Media City or Madinat Jumeirah area may have noticed some pretty large (but cleverly concealed) signs going up on the way to work.
Now it has been revealed that Al Sufouh Street - home to hotels such as The Westin, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi, The One and Only Royal Mirage - has been renamed King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud St.
The change was ordered by Dubai's His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum just a couple of days before Saudi Arabia celebrates National Day September 23. Check out the announcement tweet below.
