A year ago we showed you what the Dubai Expo 2020 Pavilions will look like from every angle and now we finally have a glimpse at what it will look like inside. The themed districts (Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability) will be home to the 136 pavilions representing countries, commercial partners and NGOs taking part when it launches October 20, 2020 and one contractor's work will be worth a whopping AED2.2million.
As demonstrated in the renderings provided, Al Futtaim Carillion's designs look incredible, and will no doubt help create a buzzing and vibrant atmosphere on site. The floor area of the pavilions span across 222,000 square meters and it's designed so adequate shading and cooling will be provided. Even when the Expo finishes in April 2021 the space at Dubai South will be put to good use.
Ahmed Al Khatib, Vice President Real Estate at Expo 2020, said that flexibility of use was the key design consideration for the Districts. "It's a big moment in the life of this event. The Theme Districts will be a major part of the site, explored and enjoyed by many thousands of people daily during the six months of Expo 2020 Dubai," he added.
