The Random Punctuation Mark You Didn't Know You Needed

Every now and then, a random punctuation or emoticon will pop up and take over the Internet's mind. The latest one is a little-known one called an interrobang [1] that is super easy to start using everyday.

The interrobang is a punctuation mark that combines both the question and exclamation mark. Wait, are you telling us you've only used "?!" beforeā€½ Hey, you're not the only one, but if you want to learn how to easily text this quirky shorthand, keep reading! First, you need to copy and paste the symbol.

To do this, google the word interrobang. The first entry should be the Wikipedia page for it. Copy and pase the symbol.

Head to your iPhone's settings.

Tap on general. From here, tap again on Keyboard.

Once you're in the keyboard settings, select "text replacement."

Create your shortcut to easily access the symbol.

You can make the shortcut either the ?! or a word you'll remember.

Now it's time to use the shortcut!

Start a new text message and type in your shortcut word. You should see the symbol show up. To use it, either tap the symbol or hit the space bar. See, that wasn't so hard was it?
