Last year, UberYACHT arrived in Dubai just in time to ring in summer. Launched in partnership with Nikki Beach and Alpha Tours, Uber threw a luxury yacht party for anyone with fingers fast enough to score a space. At Dhs300 a head, it was pretty reasonably priced for a day on a yacht, but Uber's latest boating option is even cheaper--this time in Cairo.
Starting yesterday, UberBOAT is a thing in Cairo-- and it's accessible to the masses.
Uber, along with Nile Taxi, launched the new program at 10 docking stations around the Nile, and it operates daily from 8am-10pm. The stations are located at TGI Fridays and Platform in Maadi, Le Pacha, Tagdeif Club, and Seqouia in Zamalek, TGI Fridays in Giza, and the Nile Towers in Boulaq.
"We are very excited to partner up with Nile Taxi to launch UberBoat in Cairo, providing our riders with more options to commute within Cairo without traffic. We are continuously working to make Cairo more accessible in various ways, and since our launch in Egypt, we have been introducing different transportation methods, such as Uber Tuktuk, Uber Hantour, and now UberBOAT to provide our riders with reliable and comfortable transportation options," said Abdellatif Waked, General Manager, Uber Egypt.
UberBOAT works exactly like regular Uber--just slide to "UberBOAT," request your station, and make you're no further than 15 minutes away. This is the best way we've heard of to beat Cairo's traffic!
