An Expert Explains Just How Dirty Smartphones Are and, How to Clean Them – Properly

OK, so it goes without saying that most of us, us included, are addicted to our smartphones. Take our world connecting, meme filled devices away, and we'll be expressing some severe withdrawal symptoms in a matter of minutes (seconds).
But, here's a thought, have you ever considered how many germs our smartphones are exposed to on a daily basis? We'll we spoke to the founder of UVLicht, Annabel Demana, to find out more about it, and she had some fascinating facts to share.
For starters, she told us that Charles Gerba, a microbiologist at the University of Arizona, has found that cellphones can be up to 10 times dirtier than a toilet seat! That, combined with the fact that the COVID-19 virus has been found to remain on surfaces for up to three days, left us a bit terrified – especially since studies have shown that the average person touches their face up to 23 times an hour.
